บริษัท เอ็กซ์ตร้า เวอร์จิ้น จำกัด เป็นการรวมตัวของกลุ่มบุคลากรที่มีประสบการณ์หลากหลายในแต่ละด้านของวงการภาพยนตร์ ทั้งในส่วนของการผลิต จัดจำหน่าย การตลาด การขาย และจัดฉาย เพื่อดำเนินกิจการด้านภาพยนตร์อย่างครบวงจรในระดับนานาชาติ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์มุ่งเน้นการสนับสนุนผลงานของคนรุ่นใหม่ในวงการภาพยนตร์นอกกระแสที่เน้นคุณค่าทางศิลปะและการสร้างสรรค์ แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็มีศักยภาพทางการตลาด โดยบริษัทได้จัดตั้งขึ้นในปี 2550 และดำเนินกิจการอย่างต่อเนื่องด้วยการผลิตและจัดจำหน่ายภาพยนตร์เรื่องยาว ปีละ 1 เรื่อง รวมถึงดำเนินการจัดกิจกรรม และเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ต่างๆ อย่างสม่ำเสมอ
